By By Alexi HaworthAssociated PressWASHINGTON (AP) — The logos of the Republican and Democratic presidential candidates are identical except for the two presidential candidates’ names.
The logos of Republican Donald Trump and Democratic Hillary Clinton were designed by a firm specializing in logos and branding, which specializes in logos that make people feel better, said Tim Crampton, vice president for branding for R.H. Carr.
He said the firm’s logo is the most commonly used among registered voters.
The other logos have been popularized by celebrity brands.
The new presidential logos are identical to the two Republican and two Democratic candidates’ logos, according to a press release from R. H. Carr, the firm that designed the new logos.
The firm, which designs logos for brands such as Nike, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and Verizon, said the logos feature a stylized red and black, with a red circle around the symbol for “Trump” and a black circle around “Clinton.”
The new logos feature three dots, and the words “DONALD TRUMP” are added at the bottom of the circle.
The firm says the design of the two candidate logos was “designed to be a stylistic reference to the Republican candidate and the Democratic candidate.”
The new Democratic presidential logo features three dots and a red square.
The design was “created to be an example of the Democratic Party’s candidate logo, and a reference to that candidate,” the firm said.
Crampton said the design was not the same as the designs used by other companies.
“Our logo is very well designed and it’s not as obvious to people, but it’s very simple and easy to read,” he said.
